Tree on the Rock is the Guru கல் ஆலமரமே குரு
In the Saiva Siddhanta , Lord Siva is worshipped as the Guru Dakshina Murthy. The Guru is depicted as a Human face carved out of a Tree. This is to show the importance of the tree as a source of wisdom, as Trees are constantly in sync with universe and all the ancient sages did their penance under the trees to acquire the universal wisdom available in abundance under the trees.
