  பொறுப்புள்ள ஆறுகள்     ( English Version below the Tamil Version ) ஆறுகளை மீட்டெடுப்பதின் மூலம் பொறுப்புள்ள குடிமக்களை உருவாக்க முடியுமா ???   ஆறுகள் வெறும் தண்ணீரின் ஓட்டம் மட்டும் அல்ல.   அது என்றும் ஒரு நாகரீகத்தின் உயிரோட்டம். உலகத்தின் அனைத்து நாகரீகங்களும் ஒரு நதிக்க்ரையில் தான் ஆரம்பமாகியுள்ளது. சிந்து சமவெளி நாகரீகம், நைல் நதி நாகரீகம், கங்கை, காவிரி, வைகை, தாமிர பரணி என்று அனைத்தும் நாகரீகங்களின் தொட்டில்களாக இருந்து வருகின்றன.   ஒடும் ஆறுகள் இயற்கையின் வளத்தின் அடையாளங்கள். அவை நிலத்திற்கு வளங்களை கொடுத்து வாழும் அனைத்து உயிரினங்களுக்கும் உணவின் ஆதாரமாக விளங்குகிறது. இயற்கையின் வளங்கள் கூடக் கூட மனிதர்களின் மற்றும் அனைத்து உயிரினங்களின் பரிமான வளர்ச்சியும் கூடி அனைத்து இயற்கையுடன் ஒன்றிணைந்து வாழுவதற்கு வழிச் செய்கிறது. ஆனால் இயற்கையின் வளங்களை மனிதர்களால் சுரண்டப்படப்பட உலகில் பல்வேறு விதமான மோதல்களும் அதனால் அமைதியின்மையும் போர் போன்ற கிளர்ச்சிகளும் நடந்த வண்ணம் இருக்கின்றன. குடிக்கக் கூட தண்ணீர் இல்லாமல் பல நாடுகளில் மனிதர்களும் விலங்குகளு...

On 10.Nov.2019 Sunday, Responsible Citizens iYakkam with the Local village volunteers organised & sown seed balls containing varieties of trees' seeds on top of the malamanjanur hills. We chose the malamanjanur hill in this region( southern part of Thiruvannamalai district)  ,  though there are no of hills close by,  this is the only hill in the region without much big trees growing & only Lemon grass kind of  grass known in local Tamizh language as "manjam pillu " . This grass smells like lemon when it is squeezed.  The name of the hill itself is derived after this grass. Main challenge is that for cutting these grass for thatched roofing purposes some people in the malamanjanur  village burn the grasses every year.  So most of the trees available atop the hills too get burnt & die in the process resulting in barren hills in summer months.  Only during rains,  some rivulets flow down the hills but no condensation ta...

Responsible Citizens iYakkam பொறுப்புள்ள குடிமக்கள் இயக்கம்   Trust has become a new milestone we have crossed in this long run as Responsible Citizen beginning around 2008-2009 & gradually understood the needs of the society because of the Tamizh Translation PORUPULLA KUDIMAGAN  of the Title could be mis-interpreted wrongly for a drunken man ( as the Alcoholic Hard drinks are famous in the state of Tamilnadu, where we originated ). So we made it sound it plural, thus become Responsible Citizens, PORUPULLA KUDIMAKKAL. Then when some well wisher suggested a surname of a iYakkam or movement will be taken easily by masses for the mission, we wish to work for. So we became Responsible Citizens iYakkam & continued our journey to create a positive social impact on the society.
