திருநீர் மலை மரம் மிகு சோலை

Many city based friends and well wishers keep asking for opportunities to be part of our mission on Trees on Every Hill. It is not easy for many to travel all the way to Tiruvannamalai district to take part in our activities and RCi always insists that every Hill needs to be greened not just hills of eastern ghats.

சென்னை நகர நண்பர்கள் நமது மலைகளில் நடக்கும் நிகழ்ச்சிகள் குறித்து மிகவும் ஆர்வமாக விசாரிப்பர் ஆனால் திருவண்ணாமலை மாவட்டத்திற்கு பல முறை வர முடியாதாகையால் சென்னையில் இருக்கும் மலைகளிலும் இது போன்ற மலைகளில் மர நடும் நிகழ்ச்சி ஏற்பாடு செய்ய விரும்பியதால் பொறுப்புள்ள குடிமக்கள் இயக்கம் சென்னையில் இருக்கும் மலைகளிலும் பசுமையை கூட்ட திட்டமிட்டு வருகிறோம்.

So Now we have chosen the Hill, which is now part of Greater Chennai City limits and very close to Chennai Airport & Most importantly admiring our ancestors on how they worshipped every aspect of Nature. In this hill, The water, is worshipped as THIRU NEER and deity is named as Neer Vanna Perumal, meaning Lord in Color of the water.  

சென்னையின் பெருநகர எல்லைகுள் விமான நிலையத்திற்கு மிக அருகில் திருநீர் மலையில் நடத்த திட்டமிட்டுள்ளோம். நமது முன்னோர்கள் இயற்கை வளங்களை எப்படி போற்றி வணங்கினார்கள் என்பதற்கு இந்த மலையின் பேரே ஒரு சிறந்த எடுத்துக்காட்டாகும். பஞ்சபூதங்களில் பூமியில் வாழ மிக அத்தியாவசியமான "நீரி"ன் புனிதத்தை இந்த மலைக்கு "திருநீர்" மலை என்றும் இங்கு வணங்கப்படும் பெருமாளுக்கு "நீர்வண்ண பெருமாள்" என்ற பெயரிட்டு பல ஆழ்வார்களால் பாடல் பெற்ற திவ்ய தேசமாகும்.

Like in many temples in Tamil Nadu, sthala Vruksha or Station Tree of this hill is Veppalai (Wrightia Tinctoria ) , a complete medicinal tree. Though many of this tree variety is growing in many parts of the hills, many other shrub trees are also part of this hill. But the hill is full of garbage especially plastic bottles, plastic covers and various other trashes. These are affecting the plant lives and during rainy season water rushes down and soil getting eroded. 

தமிழ்நாட்டில் உள்ள அநேக புராதன கோவில்கள் உள்ள வழக்கப்படி இந்த கோவிலின் தல மரம் இந்த மலையின் "வெப்பாலை" மரமாகும். இந்த மலையில் பல முள் செடிகளும் புதர் செடிகளுமே மிகுந்து காணப்படுகிறது. இன்றைய சூழலில் பல வகையான குப்பைகள் போடப்பட்டுள்ளன முக்கியமாக நெகிழி குப்பைகள் மலையெங்கும் பரவலாக போடப்பட்டுள்ளது.

With the help of many institutions we are planning to execute this project under the able guidance of an Environmentalist & Dean of Jeruslaem Engineering College, Dr. Sundara Murthy.

சூழலியல் செயற்பாட்டாளரும் ஜெருசலம் பொறியியல் கல்லூரியின் டீனுமான திரு. சுந்தரமூர்த்தி அவர்களின் ஓருங்கிணைப்பில் பல அமைப்புகள் இணைந்து இந்த மலையில் பசுமையை கூட்டும் முயற்சியில் இறங்கி உள்ளோம்.

We have discussed the list of activities we will be carrying out on the hill :

இந்த மலையில் நாம் மேற்கொள்ள இருக்கும் செயல்திட்டங்கள் :

1. Seed balls preparation and sowing. we are planning to include devotees also to be part of this and make them also part of this greening project and reduce garbage accumulating in the hill.

விதை பந்து தயாரித்தல் மற்றும் விதைத்தல். இதன் தயாரிப்பில் இந்த கோவிலுக்கு வரும் பக்தர்களையும் இணைத்து இந்த மலையில் பக்தர்களும் பொறுப்பு எடுத்துக் கொண்டு குப்பையே இல்லாத மலையாக மாற்ற முயற்சிப்போம்.

2. Tree pits making & saplings plantation.

மரங்களுக்கான குழி எடுத்தல் மற்றும் கன்றுகள் நட்டு பராமரித்தல்.

3. Contour bunds and soak pits on the hill slopes to prevent rain water run off and increasing ground water level. 

மழைகாலங்களில் மலையின் மீது மழையின் அளவிற்கு ஏற்றார் போல் பல வளைவு ஓடைகளையும் செறிவூட்டு கிணறுகளையும் அமைத்து இங்கு நிலத்தடி நீர் மட்டத்தை உயர்த்த முயற்சித்தல்.

4. Collect all the plastic waste and make eco bricks and if possible make a useful utility space with the eco bricks.

மலையில் பரவலாக போடப்பட்டிருக்கும் நெகிழி புட்டிகளில் நெகிழி கவர்களை அடைத்து அவற்றை பசுமை கற்களாக பயன்படுத்தி ஒரு உபயோகமான பகுதியாக மாற்ற திட்டமிட்டுள்ளோம்.

We are planning to conduct these event in multiple sessions mostly during South west & North east monsoons to increase the survival & growth rates of Trees and seeds.

இந்த நிகழ்வுகளை பருவ மழைகளுக்கு ஏற்றார் போல் பல கட்டத்தில் நடத்த திட்டமிட்டு வருகிறோம்.
