Thiru Neer Malai - Cleaning & Greening 11 Aug 2024 திரு நீர் மலை தூய்மை பசுமை பணி

Once an Azhwar ( One among the 12 ardent devotees of  Lord Vishnu ) was asked to describe the Lord.

He described the Lord as he saw is having skin tone that of the colour of the water & the Perumal's body looked like that of the green mountain.

பெருமாளின் நிறம் என்ன ? என்ற கேள்விக்கு ஆழ்வார் அவரை "நீர் வண்ண பெருமாள்" என்கிறார், பெருமாளின் உருவத்தை வர்ணிக்கும் போது " பச்சை மா மலை போல் மேனி" என்கிறார்.

This vision of the Azhwar, has a great environmental message,

in the purest, clean rain water reflects the quality divinity, every hill with the green trees and herbs are the form of divinity.

ஆழ்வார் இந்த வர்ணனை மூலம் பெருமாள் என்றழைக்கப்ப்டும் மஹா விஷ்ணு, இயற்கையே பெருமாள் என்று பொருள் தருகிறது. மழைத்துளியின் தூய்மை இறைவனின் குணமாக வர்ணிக்கபடுகிறது. மலையும் அதன் மீது வளர்ந்திருக்கும் அடர் வனமும் இறைவனின் உருவமாக உணர்த்தபடுகிறது. நமது முன்னோர்கள் இயற்கையின் குண நலன்களை இறைவன் என்று வடிவம் தந்துள்ளனர்.

When we launched our first "Trees on Every Hill" project with " Malai ( Hill), Maram ( Tree) , Mazhai ( Rain) " as the slogan in Tiruvannamalai district in 2018, we wanted to extend it to other districts in Tamil nadu & other parts of the country gradually.   But last year's flood in December 2023, Responsible Citizens iYakkam with our friends in Paryavaran Samrakshana Gativiti ( Environment Protection Group ) decided to carry out the tree planting in Hills around Chennai Suburbs to prevent flash floods and increase the gradual rainfall across 12 months instead of few days in a year to prevent flash floods. 

"மலை, மரம் , மழை" என்ற முழக்கத்துடன் எங்களது முதல் "மலைகள் தோறும் மரங்கள்" திட்டத்தை திருவண்ணாமலை மாவட்டத்தில் 2018ல் தொடங்கிய போது, நாங்கள் இதனை படிப்படியாக தமிழ்நாட்டின் மற்ற மாவட்டங்களுக்கும் இந்தியாவின் மற்ற மாவட்டங்களுக்கும் கொண்டு செல்ல திட்டமிட்டிருந்தோம். ஆனால் கட்ந்த டிசம்பர் 2023ல் வந்த திடீர் அடர் மழையும் அதனால் சென்னையை சூழ்ந்த வெள்ளமும் அதனால் மக்கள் பட்ட அவதிகளும் நாங்கள் நமது பயனுறு சூழல் ( பர்யாவரன் சம்ரக்ஷன கதிவிதி) நண்பர்களுடன் இணைந்து சென்னையை சுற்றியுள்ள மலைகளிலும் மரங்களின் அடர்த்தியினை கூட்ட திட்டமிட்டோம். இதன் மூலம் படிப்படியாக திடீர் பெரு மழை பெரு வெள்ள வாய்ப்புகளை குறைக்கலாம் என்பதால்.

More the tree density on the hills, more widespread will be rainy season is the fundamental phenomenon.   மலைகளில் மரங்களின் அடர்த்தி அதிகரிக்க அதிகரிக்க பருவ மழை பரவலாக பல மாதங்களில் பெய்யும்.

From February 2023, we have been planning to have cleaning & greening in Thiruneermalai hills, located behind the Chennai Airport. Dr K Sundara Murthy organised with the students part of Rotract Club of Jerusalem College of Engineering to carry out the activity on 11th August 2024.

கடந்த பிப்ரவரி 2023 முதல் சென்னை விமான நிலையம் அருகில் உள்ள திருநீர்மலையில் சுத்தம் செய்யவும் பசுமையை கூட்டவும் திட்டமிட்டு முனைவர் திரு சுந்தரமூர்த்தி அவர்களின் ஒருங்கிணைப்பில் ஜெருசேலம் பொறியியல் கல்லூரியின் மாணவர்களுக்கான ரோட்டரி இயக்கத்தின் மூலமாக 11 ஆகஸ்ட் 2024 அன்று நிகழ்ச்சியை மேற்கொண்டோம்.

About 100 college students & 30+ IT professionals from M/s. First Source joined us in the cleaning & greening of the hill.

100 கல்லூரி மாணவர்கள் மற்றும் பர்ஸ்ட் சோர்ஸ் நிறுவனத்தின் 30 ஊழியர்களும் எங்களுடன் இணைந்து ப்ளாஸ்டிக்கை குப்பைகளை நீக்கி மரங்களை நட உறுதுணையாக இருந்தனர்.

Along the climbing steps to the top temple atop the hill, on either side there were lot of plastic wastes strewn on the soil. Our team cleaned in from 730 to 930 am in about 100 bags of plastic wastes.

In this first phase, we focused on cleaning the hill & planted few plants. In the next phase, we will be planting more trees with more local residents participation.

மேல் மலைக்கு படிகளில் ஏறி போகும் பாதையின் இருமரௌங்கிலும் கோவிலுக்கு வரும் பக்தர்கள் பலர் போடும் ப்ளாஸ்டிக் குப்பைகள் மலையெங்கும் விரவி உள்ளது, இதனை எங்கள் குழுவினர் இரண்டு மணி நேரத்தில் 100 பைகளில் எடுத்து வந்தனர். இந்த முதல் முயற்சியில் நாங்கள் குப்பைகளை சுத்தம் செய்யவே அதிகம் நேரம் செலவிட்டோம். சில மரங்களை அதற்கான மரங்களின் கவசங்களையும் பொறுப்புள்ள குடிமக்கள் இயக்கத்தின் ஆதரிக்கும் திரு விஷ்வேஸ்வரன் அருணாசலம் வழங்கினார்.

அடுத்த கட்டத்தில் பல மரங்களுக்கு குழிகளை எடுத்து பல மரங்களை நடுவதற்கு திட்டமிட்டுள்ளோம்.

Ubuntuverse team of Mr. Kalyan , Ms. Hema & Ms. Malathi campaigned with the devotees who came to worship to prevent throwing plastic wastes in the environment & need for containing the plastic wastes in to PET bottles to make them as eco-brick. 

உபுண்டுவெர்ஸின் திரு கல்யாண், திருமதி. ஹேமா மற்றும் திருமதி. மாலதி மலைக்கு வரும் அனைத்து பக்தர்களிடமும் ப்ளாஸ்டிக் கழிவுகளால் ஏற்படும் பாதிப்புகளை விளக்கி மற்றும் ப்ளாஸ்டிக் கழிவுகளை கொண்டு எகோ ப்ரிக் தயாரிக்கும் முறைகளை விளக்கினர். 

Cleaning drive was launched by Mr. Jawahar Krishnan, Environmentalist & Mr. Sankar Raman, Philanthropist & RCi Coordinator.  இந்த சுத்தபடுத்தும் நிகழ்ச்சியினை சூழலியலாளர் திரு ஜவஹர் கிருஷ்ணன் மற்றும் பொது சேவை ஆர்வலர் திரு  சங்கர ராமன்  தொடங்கி வைத்தனர்.

M/s. Arogya Bharathi supported us by arranging facilities for safety of everyone involved in the activity.

இந்த நிகழ்ச்சியில் பங்கேற்ற அனைவரின் பாதுகாப்பிற்காக ஆரோக்கிய பாரதி அமைப்பினர் ஏற்பாடுகளை செய்திருந்தனர்.

Natural way Farmer & Reformer Dr . Nammazhwar predicted that we will be getting rains only through hurricanes hereafter as we destroyed our natural forests & trees in the name of development. Hence to reverse his prediction, RCi takes efforts to bring back forests especially on hills with local people participation.  இயற்கை வேளாண் விஞ்ஞானி நம்மாழ்வார் அய்யா பல வருடங்களுக்கு முன்பே "இனி இங்கே புயல் மழை தான், வனங்களையும் மலைகளையும் அழிப்பதன் விளைவாக இந்த நிலை வரும் " என்று யூகித்தார். அதனால் இந்த நிலை மாற பொறுப்புள்ள குடிமக்கள் இயக்கம் பல ஊர்களிலும் மக்களை பொறுப்பு எடுத்து கொள்ள செய்து மலைகளில் மரங்களின் அடர்த்தியை உயர்த்த முயன்று வருகிறோம்.

Let us make every hill a DIVINE WATER HILL as Thiru Neer Malai literally means the divinity of the Hill & water originating from the Hills.

ஒவ்வொரு மலையையும் "திரு நீர் " உருவாக்கும் மலையாக ஆக்குவோம் என்பதற்கு இந்த திருநீர்மலை முயற்சியே ஒரு முன்னோடியாக சென்னையை அடுத்துள்ள அனைத்து மலை குன்றுகளில் பசுமையை கூட்டுவோம்.
