நம்மாழ்வார் தெரு துவக்கம்

இயற்கைக்கு திரும்பும் பாதை.

இயற்கை எழில் கொஞ்சும் மலைகள் சூழ் கிராமம்.

ஆறுகள் ஓட மிக செழிப்பாக விவசாயம் செய்த கிராமம்.

ஆனால் படிப்படியாக இன்று விவசாயம் குறைந்து விவசாயம் என்பது ஒரு நட்டமடைய செய்யும் தொழில் என்ற நிலையில் கிராமத்தின் பாதி மக்கள் தொகை நகரங்களில் வாழ்வாதாரத்தை தேடி சென்றுவிட்டது.  இதே நிலை தொடர்ந்தால் மீதமுள்ளவர்களும் நகரங்களில் நச்சுபுகையில் நெருக்கடி சந்துகளில் வாழ போக வேண்டிய சூழல்.  இது இன்று இந்தியாவில் தமிழகத்தில் பெரும்பான்மையான கிராமங்களில் உள்ள யதார்த்த நிலை. 

இதற்கு திருவண்ணாமலை மாவட்டத்தின் தென் பகுதியில் தென்பெண்ணை ஆற்றின் படுகையில் இருக்கும் மேல்பாச்சார் கிராமம் விதிவிலக்கல்ல. 

விவசாயிகளின் வாழ்க்கை தொடர் போராட்டமாகவே விதைகள், உரங்கள்,  பூச்சிக் கொல்லிகள் களைக் கொல்லிகள், டிராக்டர்களின் உழவுக் கூலி, நோய்களுக்கான செலவு என்று வரவைக் காட்டிலும் செலவே அதிகம் செய்ய வேண்டிய சூழல்.  கிராமத்தின் பொருளாதாரம் நகரத்தை சார்ந்தே இருக்கும் நிலை. விவசாயிகளின் உற்பத்தி பொருளுக்கு வியாபாரிகளே  விலை வைக்கும் சூழல்.

கிராமங்கள் தற்சார்பு நிலையை எட்ட வேண்டும் என்கிற காந்தியின் கனவு சுதந்திரம் அடைந்து 70 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு பிறகும் கனவாகவே இருக்கும் நிலையில் இயற்கை வழி விவசாயமும் வாழ்வியலுமே தற்சார்பை நோக்கி நம்மை அழைத்து செல்லும் என்பதன் முதல் படியாக தமிழகத்து விவசாயிகளை தட்டி எழுப்பிய இயற்கை வேளாண் விஞ்ஞானி நம்மாழ்வார் அய்யாவின் பெயரை இதுவரை பெயர் வைக்கப்படாத தெருவிற்கு பெயர் சூட்டி மேல்பாச்சார் கிராமம் இயற்கை வாழ்வியலை நோக்கிய தன் முதல் அடியை 22.5.2020 அன்று மங்கலம் நிறைந்த அமாவாசை நாள் வெள்ளிக்கிழமை எடுத்து வைத்தது.

கடந்த வருட காந்தி ஜெயந்தி அன்றே அன்று நடந்த கிராம சபையில் தீர்மானத்தை நிறைவேற்றப்பட்டது.  ஆனால் அப்பொழுது உள்ளாட்சி தேர்தல் நடைபெறாத சூழ்நிலையில் தீர்மானத்தை செயலாக்க முடியவில்லை. அதனால் உள்ளாட்சி தேர்தல் முடிந்து புதியதாக தலைவர் மற்றும் உறுப்பினர்கள் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டவுடன் ஜனவரி 26, 2020 நடந்த கிராம சபையில் மீண்டும் தீர்மானம் நிறைவேற்றப்ப்ட்டு அதனை வட்டார வளர்ச்சி அலுவலகத்திலும் ஊரக வளர்ச்சி துறையிலும் முறைபடி அனுமதி பெற்று நம்மாழ்வார் அய்யாவின் பிறந்த நாளான ஏப்ரல் 6 ம் தேதியே துவக்க விழா ஏற்பாடானது. ஆனால் கரோனா ஊரடங்கினால் தள்ளிப் போனது.  மேற்கொண்டு தள்ளிப் போடாமல் மிக எளிமையாக சமூக இடைவெளி கடைபிடித்து குறைந்த அளவு மக்கள் கூட மேல்பாச்சார் கிராம ஊராட்சி மன்ற தலைவர் திரு. வ. துர்கா ராமன் அவர்கள் நம்மாழ்வார் தெருவின் பெயர் பலகையை திறந்து வைத்தார்.  இதனை பொறுப்புள்ள குடிமக்கள் இயக்கம் தங்களின் பணியின் ஒரு அங்கமாக இந்த பெயர் பலகை தயார் செய்து கிராம முன்னேற்றத்திற்காக அர்பணித்தது.

இதன் தொடர்ச்சியாக நம்மாழ்வார் தெருவின் வடக்கு எல்லையில் உள்ள காட்டு வேடியப்பன் கோவிலருகே தலைவர், துணை தலைவர் அவர்களின் கரங்களினால் பனை மரத்தில் வளர்ந்த எரளி மரக்கன்றை ( ஆல மர வகையை சார்ந்தது – பறவைகளால் மட்டுமே வளரும் வகை ) காட்டில் நட்டு மேல்பாச்சார் காடுகள் வளர்ப்பதிலும் காப்பதிலும் முன்னோடி கிராமமாக தன் முதல் படியை எடுத்து வைத்தது.

இந்த நிகழ்ச்சியில் பொறுப்புள்ள குடிமக்கள் இயக்கத்தின் துவக்குனர் திரு. ச. கிருஷ்ணகுமார் நம்மாழ்வார் அவர்களின் இயற்கை வாழ்வியல் பாதையை பற்றி மக்களுக்கு விளக்கம் அளித்தார். மேல்பாச்சார் கிராமத்தில் இது வரை 10க்கும் மேற்பட்டவர்கள் புற்று நோயால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டு மடிந்த நிலையில் இனி மேல் நாம் ஒருவரையும் புற்று நோயால் இழந்துவிடக் கூடாது என்பதை 

வலியுறுத்தினார்.  இங்கிருக்கும் மலைகளை கொண்டே கிராமம் ஓடைகளை உற்பத்தி செய்து தண்ணீரிலும் தன்னிறைவு காண முடியும் என்பதையும் மரங்கள் நட வேண்டியதன் அவசியத்தையும் வலியுறுத்தினார்.

இதில் கிராமத்தில் இடைவிடாது இயற்கை விவசாயத்தில் ஆர்வத்துடன் பணியாற்றும் திரு, தசரதன், இந்த நிகழ்ச்சி நடத்த அனைவரையும் ஒருங்கிணைத்து செயலாற்றிய விவசாயி திரு. சிவ. இளையராஜா, இந்த பெயர் பலகையை உருவாக்குவதில் தன் திறமையை வழங்கிய முன்னோடி விவசாயி திரு. இராமஜெயம், இந்த நிகழ்ச்சிக்காக பனை மரத்திலிருந்து ஆலகன்றை மீட்டெடுத்த இயற்கை ஆர்வலர் திரு. பெருமாள், சமூக ஆர்வலர் திரு. இராமஜெயம், நம்மாழ்வார் சீடர் திரு. ஆதிமூலம்  மற்றும் தெருவின் குடியிருப்பு வாசிகள் ஆகியோர் பங்கேற்று நிகழ்வினை சிறப்பித்தனர்.

இந்த நிகழ்வின் போது ஆடிசம் என்கிற மாற்று திறன் கொண்ட குழந்தைகளின் வளர்ச்சிக்கான பள்ளியான “திவ்ய ரசா” – திருவண்ணாமலையில் இருந்து நிறுவனர்கள் திரு. பெக்கா கோண்டியண்ணன், திருமதி. தஸ்லிம் பர்சானா அவர்களின் மாணவன் திரு. பால ஆதித்யா, மற்றும் இயற்கை ஆர்வலர் திரு. றமணீ அய்யா ஆகியோர் முக கவசங்களுடன் கலந்துக் கொண்டனர்.

Inauguration of Nammazhwar street in Melpachar Village, Thandrampattu Taluk, Thiruvannamalai district, Tamizh Nadu in Became probably one of the first village to name one of its street after Legendary selfless Natural reformer Farming Scientist Dr. Nammazhwar 

( Mostly people spell his name as “Nammalvar” but we in Responsible Citizens iYakkam want to spell his name with Tamizh Language’s unique sounding letter “zh” and we chose to spell him as “WAR” instead of “var” as ayya was continuously waging war to return back to Natural way Farming )

Even after 70 years of Indian Independence from British, the villages have become more dependent on cities for survival and half of the population have migrated to cities for livelihood.  Farmers are debt ridden with continuing purchase of Chemical Fertiliser, pesticides, weedicides, ploughing expenses adding on but without being allowed to fix a price for their produce and dependent on traders for earning. In this context, village self-reliance in economy is the need of the hour. This awareness was created by Nammazhwar ayya in his lifetime to motivate many educated city elites to return back to the roots of the economy at the villages.

Melpachar village located the Southernmost tip of Thiruvannamalai district at the banks of Then pennai river has already seen 10 deaths due to cancer from a small population of 1500 people. So Responsible Citizens iYakkam saw this as the right place to start the reversing back to golden days of Natural way farming based on Farmers preparing their own manure from cow & goat dungs and practice crop rotation and natural earth worm growth.

On this auspicious New moon day , Friday 22. May . 2020 “Nammazhwar Street” was inaugurated by the Newly elected Village gram Panchayat President Mr. V. Durga Raman along with his Vice president.

Responsible Citizens iYakkam’s  initiator Mr. S. Krishna kumar explained the need to return to natural way farming and self-sustaining economy. He explained how Tamizh Nadu inspired Cuba to adopt Murungai Tree and its leaves to become rich with nutrition. He also explained how melpachar can become self-sufficient with water by planting more trees on naturally available hills.

Street naming process started on Last year Gandhi Jayanthi on October 2^nd when the Grama sabha passed a resolution for naming this street. But at that point of time local body elections were not conducted so the momentum could not gather. So after the elections when a new team was elected once again a resolution was passed on Republic Day on 26^th January, 2020 to name this till date unnamed street. It was supposed to be opened on April 6^th on ayya’s birthday but due to Corona- COVID 19 lockdown, things had to be postponed. So on this day too with minimum participants to maintain social distancing and with face mask, the event was conducted with utmost simplicity without mike or stage.

Melpachar’s own natural way Farmer Mr. Dasarathan, most spirited coordinator Mr. Siva. Elayaraja, Painter & Farmer Mr. Ramajayam , Natural enthusiast Mr. Perumal, social activist Mr. Ramajayam, Nammazhwar’s direct disciple Mr. Athi moolam and local villagers participated in this event.

Founders of “Divya Rasa” ,an alternative natural way evolving forum for Autistic Children,  Mr. Pekka Konitainen, Ms. Thasleem Farzana, their differently abled student Mr. Bala Aditya and their friend and nature enthusiast Mr. Ramani joined the event with their face mask on.

President and Vice President planted a Banyan variety tree sapling to mark the event at the other end of the road near Forest Vediappan Temple to signify the importance of dense forests for returning back to natural way of living. 

It is just the beginning of the long road to travel in the yet to be tarred road of Nammazhwar street to regain the Village centric economy at the backward district of Tamizh Nadu.
