Feeding wild animals on World forest day

Man animal conflict is increasing every day mainly due to the greed of the mankind. we are encroaching the forest area and claiming animals are entering the villages. Hence RCi and PPPES decided to bridge the gap and sensitize the villagers reg wild animals movement in search of food.

மனிதனின் ஆக்கிரமிப்பு பேராசையால் காடுகளின் அளவு குறைந்துக் கொண்டே வந்து வன விலங்குகளின் வாழ்விடங்கள் குறைந்து அவைகள் இறை தேடி கிராமங்களுக்குள் வர வேண்டிய சூழ்நிலைக்கு  மனிதர்களாகிய நாம் தள்ளிவிட்டோம். காட்டில் உள்ள மரங்களை வெட்டி வீழ்த்துவதால் மிருகங்களின் உணவு தேடல் அதிகமாகிவிட்டது. இதனால் மனிதர்களுக்கும் விலங்குகளுக்குமான உரசல் வாடிக்கையாகிவிட்டது.  இதனால் பொறுப்புள்ள குடிமக்கள் இயக்கமும் பசுமை பாச்சார் பொறுப்புள்ள இளைஞர்கள் சங்கமும் கிராமத்தினரிடையே விழிப்புணர்ச்சி ஏற்படுத்த துவங்கினோம்.

So we have started collecting grains from each household in a village and spread them in the forest. We have observed in the Ponnaiyaru Reserve Forest area, animals in this summer area are finding it difficult to get food as thorny bushes are only available.  So animals like peacock & hen,  Wild pigs, monkeys  are the most regular visitors in search of food. 

அதனால் கிராமங்களில் ஒவ்வொரு வீட்டிலும் உணவு தானியம் சேகரித்து வனத்தினில் இட்டோம்.  இந்த பொன்னையாற்று காடுகளில் முள் புதராக உள்ளதால் விலங்குகளுக்கு இந்த கோடைக் காலத்தில் உணவு கிடைப்பதில்லை.  மயில்கள், பன்றிகள், குரங்குகள் உணவு தேடி வயல்களுக்கு வருகின்றன. 

Farmers face the brunt as they have to guard their crops round the clock. So we need to find a way out. Our fruit tree plantations is going on for long term solution. But for Immediate need we are collecting grains and spreading the areas frequented by animals. 

விவசாயிகள் இதனால் இரவு பகல் பாராமல் தங்கள் வயல்களை பாதுகாக்க வேண்டியுள்ளது.  இதற்கு தீர்வு காணும் முயற்சியில் உள்ளோம். நீண்ட காலத் தீர்வாக காடுகளில் பழ மரங்களை நட்டு வருகிறோம்.  ஆனால் விலங்குகளின் உடனடி தேவைக்காக  தானியங்களை சேகரித்து மிருகங்கள் அடிக்கடி வரும் இடங்களில் தானியங்களை தூவி வரிகிறோம்.

Today collected grains from Melpachar village and spread them in few areas frequented by peacocks as a part of World Forest day initiative. 

இன்று உலக வன நாளை முன்னிட்டு மேல்பாச்சார் கிராமத்தில் மயில்கள் அதிகம் நடமாடும் இடங்களில் சேகரித்த தானியங்களை தூவி விட்டோம்.
