Tree Planting Preparations for the Monsoon 

மழைகாலத்தில் மரங்கள் நட தயாரான நிகழ்ச்சி

For the forthcoming North East Monsoon in Tamilnadu between September to December 2021, Responsible Citizens iYakkam (RCi)  in consultation with Rural Development & Panchayati Raj Department (RDPRD ) identified the hills for tree plantations at Melpachar & Malamanjanur Villages in Tiruvannamalai District.

வரவிருக்கும் வடகிழக்கு பருவ மழைக் காலமான செப்டம்பர் முதல் டிசம்பர் 2021 வரையிலான மாதங்களில் மேல்பாச்சார் மற்றும் மலைமஞ்சனூர் கிராமங்களில் ஊரக வளர்ச்சி மற்றும் பஞ்சாயத்து ராஜ் துறையின் ஆலோசனைப்படி மலைகளில் மரக் கன்றுகள் நடும் இடங்களை பொறுப்புள்ள குடிமக்கள் இயக்கம் அந்த கிராமங்களின் இளைஞர்கள் குழுக்களுடன் இணைந்து தெரிவு செய்தது.

On the occasion of World Environment Day, Block Development Officer (BDO) Mr. Amirta Raj visited Melpachar on 5th June 2021. 

இதன் பொருட்டு உலக சுற்றுபுற சூழல் தினமான 5 ஜூன் 2021 அன்று தண்ட் ராம்பட்ட வட்ட வளர்ச்சி அலுவலர் திரு அமிர்த ராஜ் அய்யா அவர்கள் மேல்பாச்சார் கிராமத்திற்கு வந்திருந்தார்கள்

He administered Environment day resolution to the youths of Pasumai Pachar Poruppulla Elaignargal Sangam (PPPES), village youth wing of Melpachar Village. PPPES members also showed him the Hillock near Perumal Appan Temple where we are planning to plant 500 tree saplings during monsoon. 

இந்த நிகழ்வில் அய்யா அவர்கள் பசுமை பாச்சார் பொறுப்புள்ள இளைஞர்கள் சங்க நிர்வாகிகள் மற்றும் கிராம் இளைஞர்களுக்கு உலக சுற்றுபுற சூழல் தின உறுதிமொழியினை அனைவரையும் ஏற்கச் சொன்னார்கள், இளைஞர்கள் அலுவலருக்கு மரங்கள் நட இருக்கும் மலையின் பகுதிகளை சுற்றிக் காண்பித்தனர்.

To utilise the summer rains that was wetting the soil for last few days, BDO planted three saplings to start the tree planting activities. Our team had earmarked the areas from the top of the hillock to the ground where the tree pits have to be dug. RDPRD will organise the MGNREGS workers from this village itself to dig the pits as this will ensure that locals will protect the saplings and avoid grazing with their cattles.  RDPRD will also give provision for drip irrigating / watering the saplings and fence the area.  

ஊ.வ.அலுவலர் அவர்கள் வந்த நாளில் கோடை மழையும் பெய்திருந்தால் அவர்களின் கரத்தினால் மூன்று மரக் கன்றுகள் நட்டு இந்த வருடத்திய மர நடவை துவக்கி வைத்தார்கள். மரம் நட தேர்தெடுக்கப் பட்டுள்ள மலைக் குன்றில் மரங்கள் நட தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்ட இடத்தை ஆய்வு செய்தார்கள்.  துறையின் மூலமாக 100 நாள் வேலை செய்யும் உள்ளூர் கிராம ஊழியர்களை கொண்டே 500 குழிகளை எடுக்கவும், மரங்களுக்கு தண்ணீர் விட்டு பராமரிக்கவும், மரங்களுக்கு வேலி அமைக்க ஏற்பாடுகள் செய்வதாகவும் கூறினார்.

RCi also discussed about the tree planting at the barren hills in the Malamanjanur village where the challenges are many as every year the hill is being burnt by some local miscreant to harvest a type of Lemon grass.  So every year RCi & Local youth unit M/s. Pasumai Malamanjanur Poruppulla Elaignargal Sangam is planting seed balls & tree saplings but they are getting burnt in this unnatural fire on the hill. This year with the help of Rural Development department and Forest department , RCi is trying to sensitize the locals of protecting the hill and also we are guiding the youth in removing the grass around the trees planted to prevent the fire from reaching the trees.

இந்த சந்தர்பத்தில் மலைமஞ்சனூர் கிராமத்தில் மரங்களே இல்லாத மொட்டை மலையில் மரங்கள் நடுவது பற்றி ஆலோசனை செய்தோம்.  முக்கியமாக கடந்த இரண்டு ஆண்டுகளாக பொறுப்புள்ள குடிமக்கள் இயக்கமும் பசுமை மலைமஞ்சனூர் பொறுப்புள்ள இளைஞர்கள் சங்கமும் இணைந்து விதை பந்துகள் மற்றும் போத்து மரங்கள் நட்டும் அதனை இந்த வருடத்தில் சிலர் வைத்த தீயினால் கருகி போனதை பற்றி விவாததித்தோம். இதனால் நூறு நாள் வேலை ஆட்களை கொண்டு முதலில் மரங்கள் நட இருக்கும் இடங்களில் வளரும் மஞ்சம் புற்களை அறவே நீக்கச் செய்த பின் மரங்கள் வைக்கலாம் என்று முடிவு செய்துள்ளோம்.

மேலும் இந்த மலையில் மரங்கள் நட்டபின் பாதுகாக்க ஊராட்சி துறை, வனத்துறைகளின் உதவிகள் மற்றும் ஆலோசனைகள் பெற்று உள்ளூர் கிராம மக்களிடம் மலையில் மரங்கள் வளர வேண்டிய அவசியத்தை உணர்த்த வேண்டும் என்று உறுதி பூண்டோம்.
