Green Hill restored in Tiruvannamalai District

 In a year from January 2021 to January 2022 a quick turn around: 

Responsible Citizens iYakkam (RCi) could bring a significant attitude towards greenery & hill protection in Villages in Southern Part of Tiruvannamalai district in Tamilnadu. Some selected activities are listed here :

In January 2021 - in one village, Melpachar, every household was given by Responsible Youths of the Village as a part of "Pasumai Pachar" meaning Green Star Houses of the Village.

In March 2021 - Village youth planted fruit trees in Forest lake for the wild animals.

In June 2021- RCi took initiative to green the hillock along the road from Melpachar to Mothakkal village and brought to the attention of Village administration, Block development & Rural development Departments of Government of Tamil Nadu & India.

In between there was speculation, that the hillock may be taken for developing a Industrial Estate in the Village.  By the grace of green hill, the project was moved to some other block.

January 2022 : But continuous representations at all levels of administration , saw a green change and entire MGNREGA workers have been utilized till date to plant 1500 fruit tree saplings in the hillock with trenches to hold water during rains and increase the ground water table in this water scarce village. Soon this village is going to become more greener every year and more pleasant and prosperous place to Live in for future generations. Another 2500 tree saplings likely to be planted in this year.

நம்மாழ்வார் தெரு- 5ம் ஆண்டு- இரண்டாம் நம்மாழ்வார்

 நம்மாழ்வாரை தேடி-  பயணம் -2 நம்மாழ்வார் தெரு பெயர் பலகை இட்டு 5 வருடங்கள் நிறைவும் நம்மாழ்வார் அய்யாவின் 87 ம் பிறந்த நாளை கொண்டாடு விதமாக, திருவண்ணாமலை மாவட்டம், தண்டராம்பட்டு வட்டம், மேல்பாச்சார் கிராமத்தில் சிறுவர்கள், இளைஞர்கள், பெரியவர்கள் இணைந்து கொண்டாடினோம். கடும் வெயில் நேரத்திலும் "இயற்கை திரும்பும் பாதை"யின் அவசியத்தை பொறுப்புள்ள குடிமக்கள் இயக்கத்தின் நிறுவனர் திரு. கிருஷ்ண குமார், இந்த கடும் வெயிலே நம்மாழ்வார் விட்டு சென்றுள்ள இயற்கை மீட்பு பணியை இன்னும் வீரியமாக செய்ய வேண்டியதன் அவசியத்தை அனைவருக்கும் விளக்கினார். இந்த கிராமத்தின் முன்னோடி இயற்கை வழி விவசாயி திரு தசரதனின் பிள்ளைகள் செல்வன். யோகேஷ், செல்வி வேணி, செல்வி புவி ஆகியோர் நம்மாழ்வார் பற்றிய தங்களின் புரிதலை மழலை மொழியில் வெளிப்படுத்தினர். தங்கள் தலைமுறையிலும் இயற்கை விவசாயத்தை கடைபிடிப்போம் என்று உறுதி மொழி அளித்தனர், நம்மாழ்வார் அய்யாவின் பிறந்த நாள் விழாவை கொண்டாட ஏற்பாடு செய்யும் போது தான் திரு தசரதனின் பிறந்த நாள் பற்றிய குறிப்பும் கிடைத்தது . இது வரை வெறும் ஜாதக குறிப்பாக தமிழ் மாதமும் பிறந்த நட்ச...

திருவண்ணாமலையில் வன விலங்குகளுக்காக பழ மரங்கள் Fruit Trees for wild animals at Tiruvannamalai

  மலையோர கிராமங்களில் , வனங்களுக்கு அருகே இருக்கும் கிராமங்களிலும் விவசாயிகள் அதிகம் சந்திக்கும் சவால்கள் விளை நிலங்களில் விளைவிக்கும் பயிர்களை காட்டு விலங்குகள் -காட்டு பன்றி, மான்கள், குரங்குகள், மயில்கள் போன்றவைகளும் மற்றும் பெரிய காடுகள் அருகே இருக்கும் வயல்களில் யானை, புலி, சிறுத்தை போன்ற விலங்குகளும் பயிர்களை சேதப்படுத்துகின்றன. காட்டு விலங்குகள் காடுகளில் போதிய உணவில்ல்லாததால் தான் பெரும்பாலும் காடுகளுக்கு அருகே இருக்கும் வயல்களுக்கு உணவு தேடி வருகின்றன. இதனால் காட்டு விலங்குகளுக்கு நிரந்தரமாக உணவு கிடைக்க பல வகையான பழ மரங்களை வளர்க்கும் முயற்சிகளை தொடர்ந்து பொறுப்புள்ள குடிமக்கள் இயக்கம் முயன்று வருகிறது. கடந்த 30 நவம்பர் 2025 அன்று திருவண்ணாமலை மாவட்டம், மேல்பாச்சார் கிராமம் திரு தம்பி மலை அடிவாரத்தில் அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ள மலையில் இருந்து ஓடி வரும் மழை நீரை தேக்குவதற்காக கட்டப்பட்டுள்ள்   கசிவு நீர் குட்டையில்  பழ மரக் கன்றுகளை நட்டோம்.  இயற்கை ஆர்வலர் திரு ரமேஷ் அனுமகொண்டா அவர்கள் இந்த மரக் கன்றுகளை ஏற்பாடு செய்தார். மா பலா கொய்யா நெல்லி சிறு நெல்லி மாத...
