Parvathamalai Trees Planting IKiGAi moments

 

Our friends from Tamil Nadu & Andhra Pradesh were interested in joining RCi Tree expedition trip atop Parvatha Malai in Tiruvannamalai District. This year we chose to go through regular pilgrims route from Thenmaathi Mangalam village.

பர்வதமலையில் "மரங்களின் தரிசனம்" காண பொறுப்புள்ள குடிமக்கள் இயக்கத்தின் பயணத்தில் தமிழ்நாடு மற்றும் ஆந்திராவிலிருந்து வந்திருந்த நண்பர்கள் இணைந்தனர். இந்த வருடம் பக்தர்கள் அதிகமாக பயன்படுத்தும் தென்மாதி மங்கலம் வழியாக பயணப்பட்டோம்.

Parvathamalai Temple built by ardent devotees on top of a huge monolithic boulder above the hill terrains of Eastern Ghats. They have taken enormous efforts to take so many construction materials through a risky slippery path on the rocks just holding the crow bars pinned on the rocks.

பர்வதமலையின் உச்சியில் உள்ள நெட்டு குத்தான பாறையில் வழுக்கும் மிக கடினமான வெறும் பாறைகளில் குத்தப்பட்டுள்ள கடப்பாறைகளை பிடித்துக் கொண்டு மிக உயரத்தில் பல  கட்டுமான பொருட்களை சுமந்து சென்று கோவிலை கட்டியுள்ளனர் சிவ பக்தர்கள்.

Tiruvannamalai is a district of many hillocks and parvatha malai is one of the bigger hillock even bigger than the main Tiruvannamalai hill with a circumambulation path of 26 kms vis a vis 14 kms at Tiruvannamalai. 

மலைகள் மிகு மாவட்டமான திருவண்ணாமலையில் அண்ணாமலையை காட்டிலும் அதிகம் நீளமான கிரிவல பாதயை ( 26 கி.மீ) கொண்டது பர்வத மலை.

Though the canopy of the climbing is quite good making it pleasant to climb even under hot sun but top most parts of the hill is almost barren, where we chose to plant few saplings to bring some shade and also offer some flowers for deities and fruits for animals. 

மலையேறும் பாதை கடுமையான வெயில் நேரத்திலும்  இதமான நிழல் தரும்படியாக இருந்தது. ஆனால் உச்சி மலையில் மட்டும் பாறைகளாகவே இருப்பதால் கோவிலுக்கு பயன்படும் பூ தரும் மரங்களும் மிருங்கங்களுக்கு பழம் தரும் மரங்களும் நடுவதற்கு எடுத்து சென்றோம்.

Parvathamalai Protection Team's Mr. Satish organised to give tools to our team to dig and plant trees atop the hill. We could find little spaces between rocks with some soil to plant few saplings ( Naga Lingam ) and seeds ( Netti Lingam & Magizham ) of the trees. 

பர்வத மலை பாதுகாப்பு குழுவின் திரு. சதீஷ் மரக் கன்றுகள் நட தேவையான கடப்பாறை மற்றும் மன்வெட்டி தந்து உதவினார்.  எங்களால் உச்சி மலையில் சில பாறைகளுக்கு இடையே சிறிதளவே இருந்த மண் கண்டத்தில் நாகலிங்க மரக் கன்றுகளும் நெட்டி லிங்கம் மற்றும் மகிழம் விதைகளையும் நட்டோம்.

Our team comprised of the members who had come to Tiruvannamalai to attend a workshop on a Japanese Concept "IKIGAI" which enables the seeker to identify their reason for existence. So they had come to the Land where " Who am I ? " question was posed by Ramana Maharishi & Parvatha malai tree plantation gave them a glimpse of " Why I am Here ? "  as the Responsible Citizens iYakkam slogan is " Tree the responsible being" & being closer with nature is a recommended feature in IKIGAI for a long, happy Life.  Parvatha Malai being a centre of Saivism, which worships every mountain as Lord Siva & Trees as the Guru Dakshina Murthy. 

எங்களது குழுவில் ஜப்பானிய செயல்முறையான "இக்கிகய்" என்ற வாழ்வின் நோக்கம் அறியும் பயிற்சி பட்டறைக்கு வந்த நண்பர்கள் வந்தனர்.  இரமண மகரிஷி "நான் யார்?" என்று கேட்ட மண்ணில் வந்து " நமது பிறவியின் நோக்கம் என்ன ? " என்று அறிய "மரமே மிகப் பொறுப்புள்ள உயிரினம் " என்று நம்பும் பொறுப்புள்ள குடிமக்கள் இயக்கத்துடன் இணைந்து இயற்கையுடன் ஒன்றிணைந்து வாழ்தலே சிறந்து இக்கிகய் என்று பர்வதமலையில் உணர்ந்தனர். 

மலையையே சிவனாகவும் மரங்களையே குரு தட்சிணா மூர்த்தியாக வணங்கும் சைவ சமயத்தினர் போற்றும் உன்னத தலமாக உள்ளது பர்வத மலை.

Being in the midst of a monsoon , fresh aroma of herbs on the hills, climbing on the slippery rocks were more than ideal for any seeker. Every member agreed after the visit that their main purpose of the existence is to enable the Nature to remain in its pristine beauty with Hills, Trees and Rivers giving life to every being in this beautiful planet.

மழைக்காலத்தில் மூலிகைகள் மகரந்தங்களின் வாசனையுடன் வழுக்கும் மலையில் ஏறுவது பிறப்பின் நோக்கம் தேடுபவர்களுக்கு அருமையான தருணமாக அமைந்தது.

இயற்கையின் வரங்களான மலை மரம் மழை ( ஆறுகள்) காப்பதே நமது வாழ்க்கையின் மிகச் சிறந்த நோக்கமாக இருக்க முடியும் என்று வந்திருந்த நண்பர்கள் திடமாக நம்பினர். 

A special experience many gets at Parvatha Malai is that An un-Owned ( we don't want to call them stray as they are very focused on guiding the pilgrims & nature enthusiasts ) dog guides the pilgrims for climbing the hill. They never bark at strangers or wags tails at anyone but simply follows. Most beautiful feature is that it always walks with the slowest climber of the team. If the team gives anything to eat, they eat otherwise they are not touching even the bags when kept down. The Dogs rests when the team rests. Ardent Siva devotees believes they are the messengers of Lord Siva welcoming the guests to the new place.  Our Team too cherished many Ikigai moments unfolded by the beauty of the nature throughout the journey. 

பர்வத மலைக்கு வரும் பல அன்பர்களுக்கும் ஒரு தெய்வீக இயற்கை அனுபவம், யாருக்கும் சொந்தமில்லாத ஒரு நாய் சில சமயம் பல நாய்கள் இங்கு மலையேற வரும் அன்பர்களுக்கு வழிக் காட்டியாக மலையை கூடவே ஏறி வருகின்றன.  புது ஆட்கள் என்று யாரை பார்த்தும் குறைப்பது இல்லை வாலாட்டுவது இல்லை ஆனால் மலையேறு பாதையில் கூடவே வருகிறது. குழுவில் யார் பின் தங்கினாலும் அந்த கடைசி நபருடனேயே வருகிறது. நாம் ஓய்வெடுத்தால்  அதுவும் ஓயவு எடுக்கிறது. ஏதாவது கொடுத்தால் உண்கிறது. நமது பைகளை பக்கத்தில் வைத்தாலும் முகர்ந்து கூட பார்ப்பதில்லை.  சிவ பக்தர்கள் இவர்களை சிவனின் அத்யந்த தூதுவர்களாகவே பார்க்கின்றனர்.  நமது குழு நண்பர்களும் இத்தகைய நிகழ்வுகளை "இக்கிகய்" தருணங்களாகவே உணர்ந்து மகிழ்ந்தனர்.

A Long and Happy existence is embedded with the preservation of Nature. Let us be Responsible to grow a beautiful of form of Life ( Trees ) on the magnificent art of nature 

( Hill ) to drink the elixir of Life ( Water, River )

நீண்ட ஆனந்தமான ஆயுட்காலமே இயற்கையே பேணிக் காப்பதில் பிண்ணி பிணைந்துள்ளது. நாமும் பொறுப்புடன் இயற்கையின் மிக பிரும்மாண்டமான படைப்பான  மலைகளில் அற்புதமான உயிரோவியமான மரங்களை வளர்த்து பூமி வாழ்க்கையின் வாழ்வாதாரமான நீர் வளத்தோடு வாழ்வோம்.
