மலையின் பசுமையை மீட்போம்
கடந்த மூன்று வருடங்களாக பொறுப்புள்ள குடிமக்கள் இயக்கம் திருவண்ணாமலை மாவட்டம் தண்டராம்பட்டு வட்டத்தில் உள்ள மலைமஞ்சனூர் மலையில் விஜய் ரசிகர் மன்றம், சிவனடியார்கள், ஆர் எஸ் எஸ் ஸின் பசுமை படை என்று பல குழுவினருடனும் இணைந்து விதை பந்துகள் தூவுதல், போத்து மரங்கள் நடுதல், மரக் கன்றுகள் நடுதல் என்று பல பசுமை நடவடிக்கைகளை செய்து வந்துள்ளோம். ஆனால் ஒவ்வொரு வருடமும் யாரோ ஒருவர் பொறுப்பில்லாமல் போடும் ஒரு பத்த வைத்த தீக்குச்சிக்கு அனைத்து மரங்களையும் இழந்து வருகிறோம்.
In the last 3 years , Responsible Citizens iYakkam have taken up the cause of greening the Malamanjanur hill in Thandrampet Block in Tiruvannamalai District by sowing seed balls, planting pothu trees and tree saplings with the Help of Actor Vijay's fan club, Lord Siva Devotees & RSS environmental wing. But every year one irresponsible person's act of throwing a lighted match stick has burnt down all our efforts.
யார் பத்த வைக்கிறார்கள் ? என்ற கேள்விக்கு கிராமத்தினர் யாரும் தெளிவான பதில் கொடுப்பதில்லை. மலையில் வளரும் மஞ்சம் புற்கள் நன்றாக வளர்வதற்காக என்கிறார்கள். உண்மையில் பார்த்தால் கிராமத்தில் அனேக வீடுகள் காங்கீரிட் வீடுகளாகி விட்டன. மஞ்சாம் புற்கள் பெய்யும் மழையை ஒரு "ஸ்பாஞ்ச்" போல் உறிஞ்சி மலையின் ஈரப்பததை நீண்ட நாள் தக்க வைக்கும் ஒரு தடுப்பணை போல் செயல் ஆற்றுகின்றன.
Who is burning the forest ? None in the village could give a clear answer. Some says it is for harvesting the Grass growing on the hills, which are used for thatching the roofs of mud houses in Village. But majority of the houses in the village are concretised. The grass is actually acting as a sponge for rain water and retains the moisture for longer periods on the hill and acts like a check dam.
மலைமஞ்சனூர் கிராம மக்கள் ஒன்றை தெளிவாக புரிந்துக் கொள்ள வேண்டும். வேறெந்த ஊருக்கும் இல்லாத பெருமையாக ஊருக்கு நடுவில் மலை அமைந்துள்ளது. இந்த மலையை பசுமையாக்கினால் இந்த ஊரில் அதிகம் மழை பெய்யும் நிலத்தடி நீர் மட்டம் உயரும். கடந்த வருடத்தில் அடை மழை பெய்த போதும், இந்த கிராமத்தில் இப்பொதே தண்ணீர் பஞ்சம் ஆரம்பித்துவிட்டது, பல வயல்களிலும் தண்ணீர் பாய்ச்ச நிலத்தடி நீர் மட்டம் மிகவும் குறைந்து தண்ணீர் இல்லாமல் பயிர் செய்ய முடிவதில்லை. இந்த சூழ்நிலையில் இந்த அற்புதமான இயற்கை அளித்த கொடையான மலையை அதிகளவில் மரங்கள் வளர்த்தால் இந்த கிராமம் மட்டுமல்லாது இதனை சுற்றியுள்ள அனைத்து கிராமங்களுக்கும் தண்ணீர் வழங்கலாம்.
Villagers of this village have to thank the Nature for giving them a boon in the form of this hill. If this hill is full covered with trees, village will become cooler which will bring more rain and improve water table. Though it rained abundantly last year, but now itself water scarcity has started in this village. Farmers could not give water to crops. If this hill is allowed to grow on its own without human disturbance, the hill could have been a huge forest nurturing bio diversity.
எங்களின் இந்த கடந்த மூன்று வருட முயற்சியை கிழே கொடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ள லிங்குகளை சொடுக்கி படித்து பார்த்து தெரிந்து கொள்ளலாம். பொ.கு. இயக்கம் இதனை சுற்றுபுற சூழல் துறை, ஊராட்சி வளர்ச்சி துறை, வனத்துறை, காவல் துறை ஆகிய துறைகளின் அவசர கவனத்திற்கும் எடுத்து செல்கிறது.
